Behind the scenes of our quarry operations
The Rhône-Alpes region's system is structured around five quarries with varied deposits: a quarry for materials calcareous alluvial deposits (in Izernore), three quarries of massive limestone rocks (in Hauteville Lompnes, Champdor, and Porcieu-Amblagnieu) and a quarry scree (Cusy).
White Careers operates several deposits of high chemical quality, rich in calcium carbonate (CaCO₃), highly sought after by manufacturers. Our extraction methods are adapted to the types of deposits (massive rock, alluvial deposits, scree). They are carried out by cutting, blasting, or direct excavation of the subsoil.
Every week, one blast is carried out at our hard rock sites, mobilizing up to 20,000 tons of rock.
These sites produce every year near 800,000 tons limestone aggregates and riprap, with particular attention paid to the quality of the materials and to their traceability.
The Hauteville quarry is renowned for the extraction of certified ornamental stone. under the name RHONAPI and exported internationally for prestigious architectural projects.
The entire facility fully integrates environmental issues into its operations. In Izernore, a 2.5 km conveyor belt transports materials to the washing plant at a rate of 250,000 tons per year, significantly reducing road transport and CO2 emissions.
